The Pernicious Nature of Idealism

The Pernicious Nature of Idealism “Lacking or squelching the attendant responsibility of self-determinism is where socialism over-extends its basic supportive role in our society. Obviously those that are in some way handicapped deserve our assistance. Those that have been discriminated against deserve a fair chance. Yet socialism has become the forerunner to Progressive Liberalism, in as much that socialism exploded beyond its economically defined boundary becomes a model of equalizing humanity. In our modern reiteration of socialism, equal opportunity is translated to mean ‘everyone should be equal’. On an individual level, this ends up having a ring of narcissism to it “… education should aim at destroying free will, so that, after pupils have left school, they shall be incapable, throughout the rest of their lives, of thinking or acting otherwise than as their schoolmasters would have wished…. Diet, injections, and injunctions will combine, from a very early age, to produce the sort of character and the sort of beliefs that the authorities consider desirable, and any serious criticism of the powers that be will become psychologically impossible. Even if all are miserable, all will believe themselves happy, because the government will tell them that they are so.” – 61 What is Agenda 21? United Nations And, “The government wants to measure our happiness. It won’t be easy, explains Michael Blastland in his regular Go Figure column” ‘The Ordeal of Desire’ Plus

Employment for Neets (not in employment, education or training) Responsible department: Department for Work and Pensions. “As the sadly high % of young people are not in employment education or training (Neet). The problem seems to be; an ‘inherent part of our modern advanced capitalist system’, and should be recognised as such by government. With this humility, and in the recognition of the repetitive failures, by all types of governments: tough action should be taken. This should fall on local authorities (diversity of employment activity, facilities, training – reasons) applied by central government and in law. Local authorities should be heavily fined, or given an extremely strong incentive, to get every Neet that lives within its area (that registers – a check up made on Neets that don’t) to be given some form of employment, education or training (for a reasonable reward). The long-term waste, and cost, to the government and society, of the Neet problem, is unsustainable”

“According to Dr Lykken, some younger theoretical physicists are beginning to develop completely novel ideas because they believe supersymmetry to be “old hat” “Results from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) have all but killed the simplest version of an enticing theory of sub-atomic physics” “Professor George Smoot, Nobel prizewinner for his work on the cosmic microwave background and one of the world’s most respected physicists”. “Supersymmetry is an extremely beautiful model,” he said. “It’s got symmetry, it’s super and it’s been taught in Europe for decades as the correct model because it is so beautiful; but there’s no experimental data to say that it is correct”

A total of 24 new free schools set up by parents, faith groups and others will open in England next month.” Chris Keates, the general secretary of the NASUWT teaching union, describes the free schools programme as a “reckless experiment with the future of children and young people”. “There is no evidence that the free school model raises standards but there is evidence from abroad, especially Sweden, where there are huge concerns,” she said. “Free schools have been selective and socially divisive – and there is no evidence they have raised standards”

“I felt like school kind of pushed things on you,” he said. “In school, learning was just a boring event where you did a lot of math questions. Now I’m into music and science and all kinds of things” Ref, “Teaching is a vocation and not a profession. The child was not invented for educational systems (tests – brainwashing), but educational systems invented for the child. If you would encourage the pupil to increased growth by your knowledge, you must both love it and know it well, and your pupils will love both the knowledge and yourself, and you will benefit them. But if you yourself do not love it, then, no matter by what means you force them to learn, your knowledge will have no educative influence at all” – Tolstoy ‘Education and Culture’.

The Origin of Our Species
Author: Chris Stringer
ISBN: 1846141400
“It has often and confidently been asserted, that man’s origin can never be known: but ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, and not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science.” Charles Darwin.

“Professor Chris Stringer, from London’s Natural History Museum, told BBC News:
“This isn’t the end of the story. What maybe happening is that there were
several australopithecine forms all evolving human-like features in parallel as
they turned to meat-eating and tool-making and moving greater distances. “The question now is to pull out of this mess which one is really the ancestor of the genus Homo. We know there are more remains to come from this incredible site. Let’s see if other individuals also show this mix of features”

Those home loans – or mortgages – were repackaged into bonds and they were traded around the world because they were given a risk-free triple-A rated status. That worked up until 2007 but then the people who had taken out these home loans couldn’t afford to pay them any more – because they had been lured in under false premises. And then the market collapsed” And, “Karl Marx may have been wrong about communism but he was right about much of capitalism, John Gray writes” And, “Many state schools in England are not providing group worship, despite legislation making it a requirement, a survey suggests” – “The Comres survey for BBC local radio found 64% of the 500 parents questioned said their child did not attend daily acts of collective worship. But 60% of the 1,743 adults asked said the legislation should not be enforced” Ref, ‘Global Gullibility Index’ & (susceptibility to) Robber Barons – Spring Revolutions.

“‘The Secret War on Terror’ reveals the astonishing inside story of the intelligence war which has been fought against Al Qaeda over the last decade since 9/11. With unparalleled access to Western intelligence and law enforcement agencies and with a host of exclusive interviews with those who have been at the sharp end of fighting the terrorists – from the CIA and the FBI to MI5 – Peter Taylor asks whether, with the death of Osama Bin Laden, there is any end in sight and whether we are any safer from attack. The series includes the first ever television interview with the former director general of MI5, Baroness
Manningham-Buller, and an extensive interview with the recent director of the CIA, General Michael Hayden. This episode looks at how, with harsh interrogation techniques increasingly off-limits, spy agencies, have developed a controversial high-tech method of targeting and killing suspected terrorists with pilotless drone aircraft. Peter Taylor investigates the death of Osama Bin Laden and reports from Guantanamo Bay on how governments have been forced to face up to the end game – what to do with the hard-core Al Qaeda suspects and whether it is necessary to talk to Al Qaeda” (War Without End / War on Terror) Or, better; modern most pressing problems – The War Of Ideas, Arab Spring, and The Failures of Capitalism – “Dick Cheney’s new memoir, which officially hits bookstores August 30, reveals new details about the inner workings of the Bush administration and Cheney’s life as vice president” “In an interview with NBC’s Jamie Gangel, Cheney says “There are gonna be heads exploding all over Washington” when the book comes out. Against the Nasty Party ideology (beastly government: ‘let them eat cake’) – “Unicef’s remedy is for Britain to look at its priorities. They want politicians to consider specific measures to support families: reform of advertising laws; a living wage so that families earn enough to spend more time with each other; protection of children’s facilities so they have the opportunity to be active” And, “Youth unemployment also rose sharply, by 78,000 to 973,000” And, “Unions have called on a nationwide “day of action” for 30 November, which threatens to disrupt public services across the UK” And, And, “After the Robber Barons” By VIVEK H. “Evolutionary biologist and outspoken atheist Professor Richard Dawkins’ new book The Magic of Reality is aimed at children, and is intended to teach them how to replace myth with science” “Will school librarians stock the book? I imagine there will be some school communities that balk at putting it on shelves out of fear of angry letters from parents who feel the book conflicts with their religious beliefs. But, kids do need to know the scientific facts, and if parents disagree, the book at least provides a chance to have a discussion with their children about what they believe and why they believe it”

“The recent disturbances in English cities prompted many to ask why disorder had broken out. But is the real question why disorder happens so rarely, asks Jamie Whyte.” “Creating mayhem, inducing fear in others and destroying what they have laboured to build are intoxicating experiences, especially for young men. The mystery is not how an eruption of such passions could have happened at all, but why it does not happen all the time”

“Puzzling results from Cern, home of the Large Hadron Collider, have confounded physicists – because it seems subatomic particles have beaten the speed of light. Neutrinos sent through the ground from Cern toward the Gran Sasso laboratory 732km (454 miles) away in Italy seemed to show up a tiny fraction of a second early. Physicist Brian Cox talks to Shaun Keaveny on BBC 6 Music about this baffling find – he says that if it is right, it could require a complete rewriting of our understanding of the laws of the Universe”

About luckyme0

My First family, second marriage, bringing up my 18-year-old twins, boy, and girl. I am a third generation Humanist, who has some old handwritten information and notes; collected over many years. Someone may find the articles interesting, or helpful. They could bring back a little ‘reality’, after being ‘shocked’ and ‘brainwashed’, by some malicious group, or institution (REBT Therapy). People should know better, than to do this, to our very young, and the ‘obviously’ vulnerable! Go to easily accessible, non-superstitious knowledge that is not charlatanism! The blog has given me an incentive to order my thoughts, learn, and read up again, after a few non-thinking years of (very silly) imagination and passion. Why not, get your own key to a ‘door’, customise it to suit you, and it can be, all of your very own! Don’t believe, or be led by someone else’s; inherited, stupid, and a very likely (past, and not of today’s) ‘totally preposterous reality’s’. Only some interest in the ‘really big questions’, keeps life above the level of a farce, and very little else! KEEP THINKING! Some of the posts may need some correcting. It can be deeply damaging, even lethally divisive. A ‘them’, with an ‘against us’, mentality” – Professor Richard Dawkins. “The will to believe is stronger than mere reason in the vast majority of people” – Dr J.Brown, Army Psychologist of the 1960′s. Humans will believe in almost anything, in fact, they seek it! Why? “98% of us, trained to be just good consumers, let’s train our children to be the 2% who have their very own creativity and discernment”; quote by a famous surreal artist. “The lack of reason brings forth monsters”. “Global interconnectedness is lethal against mass religion, nationalism, racism, and other destructive memeplexes.
