The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) – Death Spiral

How, wonderful, at last, a ‘true awakening’ – Why hasn’t this appallingness, in today’s world, with so many that have been impoverished and uneducated, come right out before & so seriously? Because, of the, ‘Global Gullibility’ (index) – the majority of me/us Humans, ‘just wish to live a quiet life’. No hiding now! And, And, – Classes of people especially vulnerable to exploitation due to gullibility include children, the elderly, and the developmentally disabled.[2].

Prime Minister David Cameron warned last week the OBR figures would “show the scale of the problem we are in today”. He added that dealing with the deficit – which totalled £156bn in the last financial year – would affect “our whole way of life”. Global Gullibility Index UK And!A18BF3FCC5E126A2!4589.entry “Government spending cuts will push UK unemployment up from its current 2.5m to almost 3m, a report has warned.” ‘Hoodwink’d With Faery Fancy’ – ‘Unweaving The Rainbow’, Richard Dawkins. “I will never vote Lib Dem (Liberal Democrat – Sue Farrant) again” The Conservative Party – the vicious or nasty party UK, see, most Budget details – Emergency Budget 2010 and the –  beginning of the end, for the ‘Conservative – Lib Dem, Pact: Coalition Government UK – hopefully hhtp://“The UK faces the “longest, deepest, sustained period of cuts to public services spending at least since World War II”, said an economic think tank.” “Duncan Smith considers incentives to relocate jobless. We are concerned that this will mean that there will be less evolution taught in schools and a greater risk that some schools, particularly ‘faith schools’ may try to introduce creationism into the science classroom. You Can Take Action Now!

Tax Justice Network, an anti-tax haven pressure group, suggests that global tax revenue lost to tax havens exceeds US$255 billion per year, although those figures are not widely accepted. Estimates by the OECD suggest that by 2007 capital held offshore amounts to somewhere between US$5 trillion and US$7 trillion, making up approximately 6–8% of total global investments under management. Of this, approximately US$1.4 trillion is estimate to be held in the Cayman Islands alone.

Muslims believed that gold and silver must circulate, and this circulation, called rawaj, was a social and religious duty. Hoarding gold and silver was forbidden by the Qur’an: “Those who store up gold and silver and do not spend them in the way of God, tell them of a painful chastisement!” The cosmographer al-Qawini, writing only a decade or so after the minting of the first florin, says: “Gold is the noblest of the blessings of Almighty God upon his servants, for it is the foundation of the affairs of this world and brings order to the affairs of mankind…. With silver and gold coins, everything can be bought and sold. They must circulate, unlike other forms of wealth, for it is not desirable for anyone to accumulate silver and gold…. Anyone who stores them up destroys the wisdom created by God, just as if one imprisoned the qadi of a town and prevented him from carrying out his duties toward the people.”

Private income from The Duchy of Cornwall amounted to more than £17.1m” And, “In 2012 Prince Charles earned more than £18 million from the Duchy of Cornwall, but how much do we know about this secretive estate? A Channel 4 Dispatches investigation reveals the scale of its hugely profitable property empire and looks at the amount of tax Prince Charles is paying. As the heir to the throne, Prince Charles inherited the Duchy of Cornwall: a vast array of farming, residential and commercial land and properties, as well as a multi-million-pound financial investment portfolio. Each year the duchy helps fund Prince Charles’ princely lifestyle. While the duchy’s public image is one of rolling countryside estates, organic farms and classical architecture and environment, some of its investments tell a rather different story. Reporter Antony Barnett takes a royal tour of some surprising properties that the duchy might prefer you not to know about. With the tax arrangements of wealthy individuals and major corporations making headline news, these Dispatches findings come as Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee prepares to launch its own inquiry into why, unlike other commercial businesses, the duchy does not pay corporation tax or capital gains tax” The problem of evil is that it refuses to stay in its box marked – evil. The Battle, A City Within A City (London) – A Last Gambol With Your Money? Banking’s Propaganda. As the government prepares an emergency budget to help pay for the bank bailout, Will Hutton investigates the banks and what they’ve done with our money. He discovers that while ordinary taxpayers take the pain, for the banks it’s largely business as usual. Hutton analyses the banks’ accounts and shows how they are using government-guaranteed funds to gamble with derivatives as they did before the crash. He also reveals how the banks are still paying vast salaries and bonuses, and City head hunters tell Dispatches how the banks hide the sums they’re really paying out. With the help of former and current members of the Bank of England’s monetary policy committee, Hutton shows how the banks’ booming margins come from the free and near-free money the government and taxpayers gave them to save the banking system. He also investigates the banks’ intense lobbying to resist government plans for reform and highlights recent research from the OECD on how Britain is internationally unusual in the extent to which bankers have key roles in the civil service and government. Featuring high-powered contributors such as President Obama’s banking advisor Paul Volcker, former Chancellor Alastair Darling, former City minister Lord Myners and current Business Secretary Vince Cable, Hutton shows why without urgent reform we risk the prospect of another crash – this time there won’t be any money left for a bail-out – plus the certainty of British business being starved of vital funding. With the Eurozone crisis fuelling fears of another banking crash, this programme is an urgent and shocking call to action.

“Where Do We Come From?” Is the most profound question it is possible to ask. Not to be deeply interested in the answer is to deny our very humanity, to treat as valueless our good fortune. BBC Radio4 ‘In Our Time’ And Melvyn Bragg and his guests discuss the Neanderthals. In 1856, quarry workers in Germany found bones in a cave which seemed to belong to a bear or other large mammal. They were later identified as being from a previously unknown species of hominid similar to a human. The specimen was named Homo neanderthalis after the valley in which the bones were found. This was the first identified remains of a Neanderthal, a species which inhabited parts of Europe and Central Asia from around 400,000 years ago. Often depicted as little more advanced than apes, Neanderthals were in fact sophisticated, highly-evolved hunters capable of making tools and even jewellery. Scholarship has established much about how and where the Neanderthals lived – but the reasons for their disappearance from the planet around 28,000 years ago remain unclear.
