BBC TV Earth: The Climate Wars http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00djvq9 Dr Iain Stewart traces the history of climate change from its very beginning and examines just how the scientific community managed to get it so very wrong back in the Seventies.

Joseph Rowntree Foundation http://www.jrf.org.uk/knowledge/findings/socialpolicy/0375.asp Multicultural (govt- quangos, spin-word) or the ‘inclusive’ Multiracialism – you choose! Ref, Martin Amis ‘The Second Plane’.

  • Friendships develop across, and between, religious and ethnic groups in primary school although this experience changes outside school, where children’s choice of friends is often shaped by family circumstance and religious affiliation.
  • The amount of time spent by the more observant children on their religion impacts on their relationships outside of school, with more devout children having less social interaction with other children.
  • Outside school, friendships are often shaped by power relationships between adults and children, with some adults actively discouraging children from mixing across religions. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7639047.stm
  • The Joseph Rowntree Foundation uncovered a widespread belief that faith – not just in its extreme form – is intolerant, irrational and used to justify persecution. Pollsters asked 3,500 people what they considered to be the worst blights on modern society, finding a “dominant opinion” of religion as a “social evil”. Can you believe that? Religion – supposedly of God – a social evil? Many participants in the poll said religion divided society, fuelled intolerance and spawned hatred and prejudice throughout the world. In fact, so bad has been its influence on the world scene, that Nobel Laureate Steven Weinberg once wrote: “With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil — but for good people to do evil — that takes religion.”

Church Schools and Faith Schools. Boredom of Youth – ‘Living Within the Closed (or muddled – ‘Compulsory Daily Worship 1944 Act’) System’. Education System UK.

St Augustine said, "There is another form of temptation, even more fraught with danger. This is the disease of curiosity… It is this which drives us to try and discover the secrets of nature, those secrets, which are beyond our understanding, which can avail us nothing, and which man should not wish to learn". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Critical_thinking The magic switch from observational thought or conversation, to that of, analytical thought or conversation, which so many of us and the Institutions, have some, if not all: great difficulty in attempting. Ref, Notes of Dad’s, ‘living with the miners’, ‘Toff Down the Pit’. Is this why (some of) our children are so bored, disruptive, and self-harming? Ref, Church Schools and Faith Schools. UK. And, ‘muddled thinking’.

A ‘Power Shift’ and ‘Revolution’ and ‘New Order’ (Anglo Saxon Model – economics). ‘The Banking Credit (liquidity) Crisis’. ‘Creative Accounting’ and ‘Creative Destruction’. ‘Sovereign Funds (hoarding)’ and ‘Gold (hoarding – the Arab ‘oil-rich’ Nations, amongst many). "Today’s high school and college students are sexually and socially mature, while technologically still juveniles. Denied the economic and social benefits to which maturity entitles them, simply because they have not yet acquired all of the technologies skills needed in the modern world, young people may become restless and antisocial in their behaviour". http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7641734.stm Governments will be blamed! Clever organisms (humans) survive (to date)! Religious or ideological – the isms, the ‘dogmatic societies’ and the ‘dogmatic people’ – do not: those within the ‘closed system of thought or society’! Adaptation: science and systems and people that are – only ‘fully adaptable and free’ will survive (it is, basically, a slow process, but could be very fast – with climate change and possibly world {USA} economics, if the {capitalist} dogmatists win the day!  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/7641477.stm And, ‘hoarding bullion’ http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/bf8246aa-8f13-11dd-946c-0000779fd18c.html

  • About luckyme0

My First family, second marriage, bringing up my 18-year-old twins, boy, and girl. I am a third generation Humanist, who has some old handwritten information and notes; collected over many years. Someone may find the articles interesting, or helpful. They could bring back a little ‘reality’, after being ‘shocked’ and ‘brainwashed’, by some malicious group, or institution (REBT Therapy). People should know better, than to do this, to our very young, and the ‘obviously’ vulnerable! Go to easily accessible, non-superstitious knowledge that is not charlatanism! https://charleslizzy.com/2011/08/06/independent-schools-inspectorate-isi-marketing-spirituality-buzzword-or-maybe-even-for-you-to-shiver-at-the-something/ The blog has given me an incentive to order my thoughts, learn, and read up again, after a few non-thinking years of (very silly) imagination and passion. Why not, get your own key to a ‘door’, customise it to suit you, and it can be, all of your very own! Don’t believe, or be led by someone else’s; inherited, stupid, and a very likely (past, and not of today’s) ‘totally preposterous reality’s’. Only some interest in the ‘really big questions’, keeps life above the level of a farce, and very little else! KEEP THINKING! Some of the posts may need some correcting. Favorite quote: “The world belongs to those who, at least to some degree, have figured it out.” Carl Sagan, ‘The Demon Haunted World’, ‘Contact’, and other famous books DVD ‘Cosmos’. The warning of another and horrendous, “Age of Superstition”. “Isn’t there something deeply absurd in the presumption that children ought to inherit beliefs from their parents. It can be deeply damaging, even lethally divisive. A ‘them’, with an ‘against us’, mentality” – Professor Richard Dawkins. “The will to believe is stronger than mere reason in the vast majority of people” – Dr J.Brown, Army Psychologist of the 1960′s. Humans will believe in almost anything, in fact, they seek it! Why? “98% of us, trained to be just good consumers, let’s train our children to be the 2% who have their very own creativity and discernment”; quote by a famous surreal artist. “The lack of reason brings forth monsters”. “Global interconnectedness is lethal against mass religion, nationalism, racism, and other destructive memeplexes. Let us connect everybody they hate it in restrictive regimes”; from the ‘meme learning group’, Richard Brodie’s book, ‘Virus Of The Mind’ (Richard Brodie a designer for ‘Microsoft Word’). Following on, J.Bronowski, and ‘The Ascent Of Man’ TV series, and a book http://www.bbcshop.com/science+nature/the-ascent-of-man/invt/9781849901154/ with the last DVD in this series, ‘The Long Childhood’ being especially revealing. ‘Prehistory’ and the ‘Making of the Human Mind’ by Colin Renfrew, with P.Wilson’s, ‘The Domestication of the Human Species’, and Nigel Spivey’s, TV series and book, ‘How Art Made The World’, offers some further explanations.
