How about teaching properly : Humanism, REBT, Totalitarianism, Comparative Religion, History (last centuries – appalling and violent history), Evolution, and Cosmology.
Would this make us all feel too small !
Maybe we ought to stick to RE and the spiritual (spiritualism?) advantages of its pernicious encroachment in many school subjects; the publicly funded enhancement of superstition. The continuing creation of monsters from an enforced virtuousness by irrational reasoning; in totalitarian and unelected authorities, which are so backward (in thought by most of us) it is beyond any normal, modern day, and sensible comprehension.
Our children could grow up learning something real and tenable.
