BBC Radio 4 0715 Oxford Research Group study finds that al Qaeda, not America, is winning the ‘war on terror’: hear from the report author, Professor Paul Rogers.
I mentioned the Oxford Research Group months ago, they produced a publication called Endless War. The waste of lives, mostly the innocent ones goes on. This has given me another wake-up call, compounded because silly manmade disasters threaten my children’s lives long after I am dead. Daddy did nothing- this might not be so feasible now, even though I feel too old to put up any proper fight. Where are the young people in the USA and Britain? Surely, they will come out of the woodwork soon? Their ‘balls’ and their ‘freedom’, are caught in an economic trap of slavery to mortgages and children; set up by inept government, taxes and misspending money that is just below the level of when total despair sets in.
We stopped Vietnam and told the ‘grown-ups’ in power to go to hell. With all the information they have and from new modern technology, have they been brainwashed or are they far too comfortable that they will accept a blinkered submission to authority. When will they break? Are we so deep within a totalitarian police state that the very youngest young can’t get out and fight fairly the older authority?
The history of some of the very large modern public popular demonstrations is interesting:
The Miners’ Strike – put down by heavy-handed Government and Police brutality.
Poll Tax – small in comparison, very violent, comparatively small – very effective!
Hunting Demonstration – ineffective – Several large (est) London demo’s and large protests in rural towns, and cities; over a protracted period. Also, large demonstrations at rural event gatherings and horse race courses. Probably the longest running continuous protest ever that is continuing today. Law passed ineffective and shambolic.
The Anti War – ineffective. Large London demo, and a large regional protest, in towns, and cities, over several years. The international scale of the demos’ remarkable. No change of policy by the government, which insist on getting deeper and deeper into a mire.
BBC Radio 4, for G’s sake. Where are the Pirate Pop Stations, to stir everyone up? They are all so ‘nice’ today. I can’t remember being that nice as a kid! We told everyone, and everything to f…off, and then tried to change the world!
Amnesty International, today (a few years ago) says that Britain is complicit in Secret Rendition. We can compare that with the same attitude of Jews going into the gas chambers, authorised by Hitler and his government, crossing the various countries by the cattle trains in Europe. Not on the same scale, we know of, yet. We don’t know that is a problem! We only think, we do know, and it must be less than this of course: it could not be really any worse, could it?
Time for kids with young brains to lead the way, and put the fuddy-duddies out of their feather-bedded misery, politics and their business.
